AMMAN — Jordanians rallied in downtown Amman after Friday prayer in solidarity with the Palestinian people and in protest of the Israeli war against the Gaza Strip.

Demonstrators chanted slogans expressing strong opposition to the brutal aggression on Gaza, notably the ongoing siege and the use of starvation against civilians, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.

Carrying banners denouncing the attacks on the Palestinian people in Gaza, the protesters condemned international double standards on the Palestinian cause and called for Arab and scaling up international efforts to pressure Israel to stop the war.

The participants paid tribute to the remarkable resilience of the people of Gaza and Palestine in the face of genocide and applauded their sacrifices in defending their land and identity against Israeli aggression.

Jordan's unwavering support for the Palestinian people and their just cause, mainly His Majesty King Abdullah's efforts to stop the aggression on Gaza and ensure the delivery of immediate and adequate aid to the region, was also praised.
