Jordan’s ambassador to Canada presents credentials

AMMAN — Jordan’s Ambassador Majed Qatarneh presented his credentials to the Governor General of Canada Julie Payette, as an ambassador extraordinary and plenipotentiary.
During the ceremony, Qatarneh conveyed His Majesty King Abdullah's greetings to Payette, and his wishes for further prosperity and growth for the Canadian people, highlighting the deep bilateral ties in the political, economic, social and educational fields, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.
The governor general lauded the deep-rooted Jordanian-Canadian relations, noting that the mutual ties are based on the common values and interests of the two peoples.
She also commended Jordan's pivotal role in the region, voicing appreciation for efforts made to provide peaceful solutions for regional crises, as well as shouldering the ramifications of Syrian refugees' influx.
