JPMC chairman, Bulgaria minister talk fertiliser cooperation in Sofia

AMMAN — Chairman of the Jordan Phosphate Mines Company (JPMC) Muhammad Thneibat has held discussions with Bulgarian Minister of Economy and Industry Nikola Stoyanov in Sofia to explore possibilities for collaboration, particularly in the phosphate fertiliser industry.

During the meeting, attended by the Jordanian Consul in Bulgaria, Hassan Baramawi, Thneibat reiterated the company's commitment to meeting Bulgaria’s phosphate fertiliser needs, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.

Thneibat conveyed the JPMC's interest in establishing global partnerships with mining-focused companies worldwide, including in European countries, to meet their phosphate requirements.

Highlighting the "significant advancements" in the Kingdom's mining sector, particularly in the phosphate fertiliser industry, the chairman reviewed the JPMC's achievements in production and sales as well as its transition towards manufacturing industries through establishing factories to meet growing market demands.

He also expressed the company's readiness to explore new paths of cooperation between the mining sectors in Jordan and Bulgaria, building on the existing strong relations between the two countries. 

The chairman emphasised the JPMC's readiness to host a Bulgarian economic delegation to discuss opportunities for cooperation and joint investments in phosphate fertiliser production and manufacturing.

For his part, Stoyanov commended Jordan's "remarkable" achievements across all sectors, particularly in the phosphate fertiliser industry, and expressed Bulgaria's keenness to exchange expertise with the JPMC and identify joint projects to enhance trade and economic relations between Europe and the Middle East.
