KAFD, Lower House sign agreement on youth training

AMMAN — The King Abdullah II Fund for Development (KAFD) and the Lower House on Saturday signed a memorandum of understanding to train 75 young people to employ as research assistants for lawmakers through implementing the second phase of the parliamentary fellowship programme.

KAFD Director Saeb Al Hassan said that implementing the project is part of His Majesty King Abdullah’s vision to grant youth a real development role and engage them in the entire political process, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.

Lower House Secretary General Abdulrahim Waked said that the chamber is keen on cooperating with various national institutions and looks forward to activating the youth’s role in the national process and enhancing their engagement in the political life.

The project, implemented by the All Jordan Youth Commission, aims to develop youth leadership skills, increase awareness about various national issues and challenges, and expand participation in the public life.
