Khasawneh receives WHO regional director

AMMAN — Prime Minister Bisher Khasawneh on Thursday received Regional Director of the World Health Organization (WHO) for the Eastern Mediterranean region Ahmed Al Mandhari. During the meeting, Khasawneh emphasised the "strong" cooperation between Jordan and the WHO, which proved to be highly effective during the COVID-19 pandemic, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported. Khasawneh expressed his appreciation to the organisation for their assistance and support in enhancing the healthcare systems in Jordan, voicing his hope for continued and increased aid. Mandhari said that Jordan has made big strides in the health field, in terms of eliminating communicable diseases. He also commended Jordan's efforts in dealing with the pandemic, as the country was one of the first in the region and the world to administer vaccinations to its citizens and residents, reiterating that Jordan "sets a great example in managing health crises".
