King attends military drill

AMMAN — His Majesty King Abdullah, the Supreme Commander of the Jordan Armed Forces-Arab Army, attended a military drill that was carried out by the Desert Eagle SWAT Unit on Friday.

The exercise, also attended by King’s Military Adviser and Chairman of the Joint Chiefs-of-Staff Gen. Mashal Al Zaben and HRH Prince Feisal, included strategic mobilisation operations and shooting by jet fighters, helicopters and anti-tank weapons and artillery.

The unit was set up upon Royal orders and was provided with helicopters, vehicles and equipment to become self-sufficient, flexible and highly mobile, capable of executing its missions day and night and in various weather conditions, according to a Royal Court statement.

The King commended the unit personnel's "distinguished level" and their skills and high morale, according to the statement.
