King congratulates nation as Ramadan announced

AMMAN — His Majesty King Abdullah on Sunday extended his felicitations to Jordanians, Arabs and Muslims over the start of Ramadan.
In a Facebook post, His Majesty wrote: “I warmly congratulate all Jordanians, as well as Arab and Muslim Nations, on the advent of the Holy Month of Ramadan, a month of mercy and blessings”.
Meanwhile, state agencies announced plans to ensure a smooth public life during the holy month.
The Public Security Department (PSD) said on Sunday it has a traffic safety plan in place to be implemented during the month.
The PSD will also deploy more police officers near residential neighbourhoods and crowded markets to guarantee the safety of people and properties.
Measures also include ensuring a swift flow of traffic, especially before iftar, the meal to break the daylong fast.
