AMMAN — His Majesty King Abdullah on Sunday discussed the vital role of the ICT sector in Jordan with Huawei’s Deputy Chairman and Rotating CEO Guo Ping, according to a Royal Court statement.

The ICT sector in Jordan offers investment incentives and capable human resources, which has made Jordan a regional hub in the field, the King said.

Ping commended the launch of “Reach 2025” initiative which aims to help Jordan become similar to advanced countries in the field of ICT, which he said is also important for the national economy and society.

He said that Huawei will provide an open platform to serve software development companies and other firms in the ICT sector, as well as attract advanced applications from other countries into the Kingdom, to enable the vital sector to keep up with developments and contribute to building smart cities.
