King, German chancellor affirm need to unify efforts to counter COVID-19

AMMAN — His Majesty King Abdullah and German Chancellor Angela Merkel on Tuesday affirmed the need to unify bilateral and international efforts to stop the spread of the coronavirus disease (COVID-19), according to a Royal Court statement.
In a phone call, King Abdullah and Chancellor Merkel stressed the importance of maintaining efforts to counter the humanitarian and economic ramifications of the COVID-19 pandemic.
His Majesty also noted the strong ties between Jordan and Germany and keenness to bolster cooperation across all sectors, the statement said.
