King inaugurates Military Oncology Centre in Amman

AMMAN — His Majesty King Abdullah, the Supreme Commander of the Jordan Armed Forces-Arab Army, on Tuesday inaugurated the Royal Medical Services’ (RMS) Military Oncology Centre, established on the premises of the Queen Alia Military Hospital at a cost of JD25 million.

King Abdullah was briefed on the centre’s facilities and qualified medical staff, as well as the RMS’ recent projects to bolster the healthcare infrastructure, according to a Royal Court statement.

During a tour of the facility, His Majesty commended the ongoing efforts to enhance health services, stressing the need to provide quality healthcare.

Established through a grant by the Abu Dhabi Fund for Development, the 140-bed centre, which extends over an area of 18,300 square metres, includes six intensive care units, four bone marrow transplant rooms, two chemotherapy halls, eight outpatient clinics, and two additional rooms for medical interventions.

Prime Minister Bisher Khasawneh, Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Maj. Gen. Yousef Hneiti, Director of the Office of His Majesty Jafar Hassan, UAE Ambassador to Jordan Ahmed Ali Al Balushi, and a number of officials attended the inauguration.
