AMMAN — His Majesty King Abdullah on Wednesday met with a number of British government officials and lawmakers, as well as academics and figures from think tanks in the UK.

The meeting, held in London, covered regional developments and Jordan’s position on various issues and regional crisis, a Royal Court statement said.

Foreign Minister Ayman Safadi, Adviser to His Majesty and Director of the Office of His Majesty Manar Dabbas and Jordan’s Ambassador to the UK Omar Nahar attended the meeting.

King Abdullah arrived in the United Kingdom earlier in the day to participate in the London initiative, a conference hosted by the British government in partnership with the Jordanian government to support the Kingdom’s economy and investment, according to the statement.

The London initiative will kick off today with the participation of 450 representatives from 60 countries, including private and public, sector representatives, Arab and foreign investment funds and international organisations.

The King will deliver the keynote speech at the event, which is held under the title “Jordan: Growth and Opportunity”.
