AMMAN — His Majesty King Abdullah on Wednesday received a delegation of senior officers from the US Army National Defence University (Capstone Fellows).

His Majesty outlined Jordan's positions on regional and international developments, a Royal Court statement said.

During the meeting at Al Husseiniya Palace, they discussed regional and international efforts to combat terrorist groups and extremism through a comprehensive approach.

Jordan has called for tackling terror at the military, security and ideological levels, insisting that the threat is global, with no country being spared by terrorists.

The King has on several occasions underlined that terrorism is not restricted to Iraq and Syria, thus he urged the world community to pay attention to areas like Africa, especially Libya, where Daesh is entrenching its presence amid political chaos, along with Sinai in Egypt, Mali, Nigeria and other countries in the world.

The meeting with the Capstone delegates also covered developments of the Syrian crisis and Iraq.

The delegates, headed by Joseph Hoar, the university's senior fellow and retired general, voiced appreciation for Jordan's stances under the leadership of His Majesty to safeguard world peace and stability.

They also commended the Kingdom's efforts to combat terrorism and terrorist groups.

The meeting was attended by Royal Court Chief Fayez Tarawneh and King's Office Director Jafar Hassan.
