King visits Al Karamah Battle memorial site on its 53rd anniversary

AMMAN — His Majesty King Abdullah, the Supreme Commander of the Jordan Armed Forces-Arab Army (JAF), accompanied by HRH Crown Prince Hussein, on Sunday visited the memorial site for the martyrs of Al Karamah Battle on its 53rd anniversary, according to a Royal Court statement.

Led by His Majesty the late King Hussein Bin Talal, the 1968 Al Karamah Battle was a milestone in the history of the JAF, in which the Arab Army achieved a historic victory.

King Abdullah was received in the Jordan Valley town of Al Karamah by Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Maj. Gen. Yousef Huneiti.

His Majesty laid a wreath at the Unknown Soldier Monument and recited verses from the Holy Koran.
