Labour Ministry signs agreement to construct garment factory

AMMAN — Labour Minister Samir Murad and the Jordanian-Indian Clothes Company Manager Adrash Sharan on Thursday signed an agreement to establish a new production branch in the Deir Alla District of Balqa Governorate.
The agreement includes the training and employment of 200 workers, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.
It is funded by “Social and Economic Productivity Support Programme” and “Employment-Technical and Vocational Education and Training Fund”. Morad said that the agreement comes in line with the ministry’s policy of creating job opportunities and increasing investments in remote areas.
According to the agreement, the Labour Ministry is committed to establishing a 2000sqm factory, and the company will pay the wages of all working and training staff in the factory as stipulated in the Labour Law.
