Majority of SSC pensions going to early retirees — Rawabdeh

AMMAN — Social Security Corporation (SSC) Director General Nadia Rawabdeh on Sunday said the cost of monthly pensions stands at around JD55 million, of which JD31 million goes to early retirees and JD24 million to old age, injury and disability pensions.
Delivering a lecture at Irbid’s Yarmouk University, Rawabdeh also said that spending on early retirement pensions constitutes 54 per cent of total SSC costs.
She noted that 73,000 out of around 165,000 pensioners are early retirees whose average retirement age is 49 years.
