AMMAN — The Millennium Challenge Account-Jordan (MCA-Jordan), which is implementing a $275 million grant by the US Government’s Millennium Challenge Corporation (MCC), was named winner of the MCC’s 2014 Country Commitment Award.

The award, which recognises exemplary commitment to achieve MCC’s innovative and results-driven approach to development, was presented to MCA-Jordan CEO Kamal Zoubi during the 10th MCC anniversary signature event in Washington, DC last week, according to a statement sent to The Jordan Times.

“This award is a pride to Jordan. It is a result of the hard work and commitment to excellence by MCA-Jordan’s team,” the statement quoted Zoubi as saying.

MCC funds three main projects in Zarqa Governorate that entail laying out new water and sewage pipes, and expanding the As Samra Wastewater Treatment Plant.
