Members of Lower House committees meet Al Aqsa imam

AMMAN — The Lower House Palestine Committee and Legal Committee on Monday met with Head of the Supreme Islamic Council and Imam of Al Aqsa Mosque Sheikh Ekrima Sabri.
Chairman of the legal committee Abdulmunim Oddat MP, and chairman of the Palestine Committee, Mohammed Dhahrawi MP, reiterated the Kingdom's support for Jerusalemites and Jerusalem's Awqaf, highlighting His Majesty King Abdullah's directives to enhance the steadfastness of the holy city, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.
Sabri highlighted the pivotal role of the Hashemite Custodianship over Jerusalem's Islamic and Christian holy sites, notably in safeguarding the old city's Arab, Islamic and Christian identity and preserving the historical and legal status quo. The imam also expressed appreciation for the Lower House’s efforts in support of the Palestinians.
