Minister warns Israel against attacks on Al Aqsa reconstruction committee staff

AMMAN — Minister of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs Abdul Nasser Abul Bassal warned Israeli authorities of consequences of the repeated attacks on the staff at the Al Aqsa Mosque Reconstruction Committee and the Islamic Endowments (waqfs) Department.

Abul Bassal denounced the arrest of the staff and the obstruction of their work, as well as attempts to terrorise them, including summoning them to be investigated on false and baseless security pretexts, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.

He also condemned the ongoing Israeli violations and attacks against Al Aqsa Mosque/Al Haram Al Sharif, especially the provocative break-ins of extremists and settlers taking place every day in the courtyards of Al Haram Al Sharif, which are under the protection of the Israeli occupation forces, police and private forces.
