New medical procedure introduced at King Hussein Medical Centre’s Queen Alia Heart Institute

AMMAN — The Queen Alia Heart Institute at the King Hussein Medical Centre has introduced the trans-catheter aortic valve replacement technology, Cardiologist Brig. Gen. Abdullah Omeish said Tuesday.
The new technology is implemented under local anaesthesia, instead of general anaesthesia, to avoid any complications. Omeish said studies show that replacing the valve using this method reduces chances of death by 60 per cent
