New social security subscription rates to go into effect January 1

AMMAN — The Social Security Corporation (SSC) on Sunday reminded business owners and employees of the new rates on their subscriptions, to be effective from January 1, 2016.
The new rates of subscriptions in the private sector will be 21 per cent of employee salaries, with 13.75 per cent covered by employers and 7.25 per cent by employees, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.
As for the public sector, the rate will be 18.75 per cent of the salaries, with public institutions and ministries covering 12.5 per cent of the subscription, and employees paying 6.25 per cent. SSC also stressed that optional subscribers’ rates will be 16.75 per cent of their salaries, Petra added.
