Over 275,000 foreign tourists visit Madaba as of September

AMMAN — A total of 275,439 tourists, mainly from the US, Italy, France, Spain and Germany, have visited Madaba in the first nine months of 2022, Madaba Tourism Director Wael Jaanini said on Saturday.
Mount Nebo topped the governorate's destination with 275,439 visitors, followed by the St George's Greek Orthodox Church with 167,857 guests, and the Madaba Visitor Centre with 113,800 tourists, Jaanini said as reported by the Jordan News Agency, Petra.
He added that the total number of tourist facilities in Madaba stood at 110, which employ 782 workers. Madaba has 20 hotels, 29 tourist restaurants, 26 handicrafts shops, 30 shops and five travel agencies, he said.
