Palestinian Affairs Department distributes JD1.05m to camps

AMMAN — Director of the Department of Palestinian Affairs Yaseen Abu Awwad on Monday distributed JD950,000 to refugee camp service committees and JD100,000 to sports and youth clubs as part of annual government support.

Abu Awwad, who distributed the support on behalf of Foreign Minister Ayman Safadi, said that the allocations are disbursed annually from the general budget to assist the the committees programmes, which aim to enhance camp infrastructure and implement projects, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.

Meanwhile, financial allocations for clubs contribute to supporting their activities by attracting young people and utilising their skills to serve the community, Abu Awwad noted.
