AMMAN — The Palestinian Ambassador to Jordan Atallah Khairi on Thursday extended appreciation towards His Majesty King Abdullah’s Speech from the Throne after inaugurating the 19th Parliament’s non-ordinary session, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.

The King emphasised the Palestinian cause, rights of Palestinians, continuing to protect Jerusalem and its Islamic and Christian holy sites by the virtue of the Hashemite Custodianship that has extended for more than 100 years and is considered a duty and a responsibility that the Hashemites proudly bear.

"The people of Palestine cannot forget the noble, wise and brave stances His Majesty adopted to support them in their ordeals," Petra quoted Khairi as saying.

The King’s speech is an important message to the world reaffirming the importance of materialising the two-state solution, leading to the establishment of the independent, sovereign and viable Palestinian state, living in peace with Israel, on the June 4, 1967, lines with East Jerusalem as its capital, Khairi stressed.

Khairi also lauded His Majesty’s denouncement of any violations committed against Al Aqsa Mosque/Al Haram Al Sharif and His efforts exerted in establishing fair and comprehensive peace in the region.
