AMMAN — Jordan on Sunday condemned the arrest of Jerusalem Governor Adnan Gheith in a raid on his house in Silwan, a neighbourhood in the occupied city of Jerusalem.
Head of Palestine Parliamentary Committee at the House of Representatives Yihya Saud said that the governor’s detention is part of the occupation’s continued policy of terror towards the capital of occupied Palestine and its people, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.
Saud added that the terrorist behaviour showed by occupation forces is to impose its hegemony, pressure and blackmail. Saud said that Gheith’s arrest will not prevent the Palestinian people from protecting the holy sites and defending Jerusalem as their capital.
Saud also called on Muslim and Arab parliamentarians to counter this Israeli attack against the holy Aqsa Mosque, its leaderships and the occupied city itself.
