AMMAN — The head and members of the Jordanian Parliamentary Friendship Committee with the Gulf countries and Yemen discussed with Saudi Ambassador to the Kingdom Nayef Bin Bandar Al Sudairi the relations binding the two kingdoms of Jordan and Saudi Arabia, and ways to strengthen them in all fields, especially parliamentary ones, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.

This came during the committee members’ visit, headed by MP Mohammad Fayez, to the Saudi embassy in Amman, where they were received by Sudairi.

Fayez described the Jordanian-Saudi relations as “brotherly, historical and well-established, as they constitute a model in Arab relations, and they have always remained a relationship of brotherhood and a common destiny laid down by His Majesty King Abdullah and the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman”.

He stressed that the conditions in the region require everyone to bolster and sustain coordination and consultation at various levels, to serve the interests of the two brotherly peoples and the issues of the Arab and Islamic nations, foremost of which is the Palestinian cause.

The political and economic challenges that the region is going through have negatively affected Jordan's economic reality, he said, appreciating in this regard Saudi Arabia's supportive stances for Jordan.

For his part, Sudairi affirmed the depth of the relations that unite the two countries and peoples, and the advanced level they have reached, underlining that the nature of the distinguished relations was reflected in many common positions.

He explained that the harmony and coordination between the two countries dominate the mutual relations, and that the positions of the two countries, led by His Majesty King Abdullah and King Salman support the issues of the Arab and Islamic nations.
