AMMAN — The Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) will provide the Petra Development and Tourism Region Authority (PDTRA) with technical assistance in training and local development under a JD3 million agreement signed Monday.

JICA will also provide devices for the Petra Museum project, according to a statement sent to The Jordan Times. PDTRA Chief Commissioner Mohammad Nawafleh said agreement follows a JD8 million deal to construct the museum.

The chief commissioner said PDTRA approved the final blueprints for the museum and sent them to Japan to proceed with the measures of issuing a tender, expected to be floated in less than two months.
