PLO delegation calls for anti-apartheid Arab, int’l parliamentary coalition

AMMAN — A Palestine Liberation Organisation (PLO) delegation on Wednesday called for establishing an anti-apartheid Arab and international parliamentary coalition during a meeting with the Senate’s Palestine Committee.
The guest delegation is headed by PLO Executive Committee member Ramzi Rabah, and includes head of the Anti-Apartheid Committee at Palestine Legislative Council (PLC) Sinan Sheqadeh, and Director of the Anti-Apartheid Department Maher Amer.
Head of the Senate's Palestine Committee Senator Nayef Qadi reiterated that the Palestinian cause tops the Kingdom's domestic and foreign priorities.
He also expressed readiness to support any "serious" action aimed at enabling Palestinians meet their legitimate rights, calling for enhancing their internal unity, as divisions would affect efforts serving the Palestinian cause.
Head of the guest delegation, Rabah, said the Palestinian move, which comes at a crucial stage, is meant to establish an Arab parliamentary coalition against Israeli apartheid, according to the Jordan News Agency, Petra.
Also on Wednesday, Lower House Speaker Ahmad Safadi on Wednesday stressed Jordan’s unaltered stance, under the leadership of His Majesty King Abdullah, in supporting the Palestinian cause.
Receiving the Palestinian delegation, Safadi reiterated the Kingdom’s keenness to put the Palestinian issue at the top of Arab and international decisions until Palestinians achieve their legitimate rights on their national soil, mainly establishing their independent state with East Jerusalem as its capital on the pre-1967 lines, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.
Several MPs and members of the PLO attended the meeting.
