AMMAN — Prime Minister Omar Razzaz on Wednesday paid a visit to Al Bashir Hospital to check on the new facilities and services, particularly at the emergency department.

The purpose of this visit was to explore the reality and quality of the services provided to citizens, Razzaz said, according to a statement carried by the Jordan News Agency, Petra.

Razzaz said that the level of the services patients receive at the hospital “has clearly improved”. The hospital receives a patient every 23 seconds, according to Petra.

“The situation is very different today,” Razzaz said, comparing the hospital’s current situation now with that of December last year when he also visited the facility.

“Categorisation and classification processes have become more organised and are now down to mere minutes. This boosts the diagnosis accuracy and allows patients to receive treatment faster,” Razzaz said.

Razzaz added that serving citizens is the government’s duty and work must continue towards further development and progress.

“After His Majesty King Abdullah and the prime minister’s visits to the hospital over the past months, a comprehensive and thorough review of the standing processes was carried out in light of the King’s notes and pointers,” head of the hospital’s emergency section and outpatient clinics, Mohammad Abu Zaid, said.

“The emergency department was fitted with nine new beds, fully equipped, and vast maintenance operations were carried out,” Abu Zaid said.

New facilities were introduced, including the classification and categorisation sections, in addition to a new pharmacy, locker rooms, break rooms, sonar rooms and other facilities, Abu Zaid was quoted by Petra as saying.
