PM inspects development projects in Karak

AMMAN — Prime Minister Bisher Khasawneh on Thursday conducted a field inspection tour in Karak to visit various institutions and development projects in implementation of Royal directives.
The tour began by inaugurating the first phase of the Jinsheng International Trade Corporation’s ceramic factory, a Chinese investment worth $100 million over an area of 550 dunums located at the entrance of the Qatraneh region, adjacent to the Desert Highway.
During the ceremony, the prime minister reiterated the government's commitment to supporting investment and creating a favourable environment to attract and enable existing investments.
Jinsheng International will provide 250 job opportunities during the first phase, and will ultimately create approximately 750 jobs after second and third phases are completed in 2024.
The prime minister also inspected the progress of Al Lajjun water pumping station, where he learned about the station's services.
He received a briefing from Minister of Water and Irrigation Mohammad Najjar, and Director-General of the Aqaba Water Company Khaled Al Obaiden on the water supply plans for next summer.
These plans include projects worth JD1.2 million aimed at improving the efficiency and productivity of the Lajjun wells, and JD22 million for installing new pipelines and networks to improve supply to various areas of Karak.
Najjar also noted that the procedures to minimise water loss in Karak have successfully cut the percentage of loss from 70 per cent to 52 per cent.
Finally, during his visit to the Karak Public Hospital, the prime minister stressed the importance of providing high quality treatment and health services to citizens, and addressing all obstacles and challenges that hindering the sector.
