AMMAN — Prime Minister Bisher Khasawneh on Sunday met with the heads of Arab delegations participating in the launching ceremony of Irbid as the Capital of Arab Culture 2022 under Royal patronage, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.
Khasawneh, chairman of the Higher Committee for the celebration of Irbid, the Capital of Arab Culture 2022, stressed that the people, the government, the private sector and civil society institutions are all invested in the success of this important national and Arab event.
During the meeting, attended by Minister of State for Media Affairs Faisal Shboul and Minister of Culture Haifa Najjar, the PM highlighted the importance of creating an Arab cultural event that “benefits the level of the Arab nation and its historical civilisation”.
Khasawneh stressed the necessity to sustain this event throughout the year by establishing cultural events in cooperation with the local community, as well as networking with other countries to celebrate cultural weeks that shed light on the culture of Arab countries and their people.
The heads of the Arab delegations participating in the celebration of Irbid as the Arab Capital of Culture 2022 underlined the importance of this Jordanian and Arab cultural event, calling on all people to contribute to its success and expressing thanks for the invitation they received to participate in the launching ceremony.
