AMMAN — Prime Minister Omar Razzaz on Thursday concluded his participation in the World Economic Forum (WEF) that took place in Davos, Switzerland.
Deputising for His Majesty King Abdullah, the prime minister headed the Jordanian delegation, participating in a special session on the geopolitical prospects for the MENA region moderated by WEF President Borge Brende and attended by ministers and officials from several countries.
The forum, which saw the participation of about 3,000 people, was an opportunity for the government to present its growth strategy, attract investments and garner funding for major projects that the Kingdom intends to implement in many vital sectors, including partnership projects between the public and private sectors, the Jordan News Agency, Petra reported.
In an interview with Petra on Thursday, Razzaz highlighted the appreciation and praise King Abdullah's efforts have garnered on the regional and international levels by all countries participating in the WEF.
In remarks after concluding his participation in the forum, the prime minister said that the geopolitical situation topped most of the event's discussions.
He noted that the Kingdom's message to the forum has redirected focus to what His Majesty discussed last week in his address to the European Parliament regarding the centrality of the Palestinian issue in achieving peace in the Middle East and the entire world.
“There will be no solution unless a Palestinian state is established with East Jerusalem as its capital,” Razzaz stressed, noting that “all other issues are secondary”.
He pointed out that his meetings with heads of delegations mainly addressed the economic situation in the region, and in Jordan in particular, stressing that the Kingdom has received praise for its role in the region and the economic programme it has adopted.
