Police arrest 10 suspected drug dealers

AMMAN — The Anti-Narcotics Department (AND) on Monday arrested 10 suspected drug dealers in Ramtha, Jerash and Jabal Jofeh in Amman, who were in possession of various illegal substances, the Public Security Department (PSD) said in a statement e-mailed to The Jordan Times.
AND agents carried out three dawn raids that included one in Ramtha where they arrested five suspects and seized quantities of heroin and narcotic pills. The second raid was in Jerash and concluded with the arrest of three suspects and the seizure of half a kilogramme of synthetic cannabis, known locally as “joker”, in addition to 40 bags of the same substance.
In the third raid, AND personnel arrested two suspects in Jabal Jofeh, Amman, who were in possession of “joker”. The PSD said preliminary investigations are still ongoing ahead of referring the suspects to court.
