Police officer ‘shoots himself accidentally’

AMMAN — A policeman died on Wednesday when a bullet was reportedly discharged accidentally from his gun while on duty at Princess Basma Hospital.

According to the Public Security Department (PSD) media office, the corporal was from Irbid’s Police Department. The bullet penetrated his chest, leading to his death.

A committee has been formed to investigate the incident, according to the Jordan News Agency, Petra.
