AMMAN — The Jordanian National Centre for Epidemics and Communicable Diseases Control (JCDC) on Thursday emphasised the fundamental role of primary healthcare, mostly provided through health centres across the Kingdom, in early detection and prevention of communicable diseases.
These centres have been instrumental in diagnosing and responding to such diseases, thus preventing epidemics, according to a JCDC statement cited by the Jordan News Agency, Petra.
The JCDC also highlighted the importance of laboratories available in these health centres, especially comprehensive ones, in making initial diagnostic hypotheses to detect any unusual or infectious disease phenomena.
The statement stressed the necessity of strengthening the role of primary healthcare as a preventive measure against epidemics and communicable diseases, and urged support for initiatives aimed at achieving comprehensive health coverage that allows all individuals to access integrated and quality health services wherever and whenever needed, without financial constraints.
