Prime minister reaffirms strong ties in Egypt visit

AMMAN — Prime Minister and Minister of Defence Bisher Al Khasawneh on Saturday visited the New Administrative Capital project, located east of Cairo, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported. 

Khasawneh and Egyptian Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly held talks at the Cabinet headquarters in the New Administrative Capital, followed by a session attended by relevant officials from both sides dealing with issues of common interest.

The two prime ministers stressed “the strength of the long-established and strategic bilateral ties”, reiterating mutual keenness to bolster cooperation, especially in light of the development led by His Majesty King Abdullah and Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El Sisi.

The meeting included a detailed explanation of the idea of ​​the New Administrative Capital project, its implementation, and coordination between state institutions and the Egyptian armed forces, Petra said. 

Welcoming Khasawneh, Madbouly said that the first visit of an Arab official to the project “confirms the strength of coordination between Jordan and Egypt”.

The Egyptian prime minister referred to the planning, financing and implementation on which the New Administrative Capital project is based, pointing to the governmental, residential, cultural and service facilities and neighbourhoods that it includes, to serve an area of ​​170,000 acres.

The meeting was attended by  Minister of Public Works and Housing Yahya Kisbi, Minister of State for Prime Ministry Affairs  Ibrahim Jazi, Minister of Justice Ahmad Ziadat, Jordanian Ambassador in Cairo Amjad Adaileh, and a number of officials.
