Prince Ali highlights WAFF’s 2021 achievements, expresses thanks to member associations

AMMAN — HRH Prince Ali, president of the West Asian Football Federation (WAFF), said that the federation managed to overcome 2021 obstacles, thanks to member associations’ cooperation.

In a letter to the member associations under the umbrella of the WAFF, the prince expressed pride in cooperation shown by member associations, which led to reaching high points, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported on Thursday.

According to a WAFF statement on Wednesday, the prince highlighted the federation’s achievements in 2021, including a series of administrative activities, training and referee courses and workshops in various fields, and the signing of several agreements to host upcoming championships, notably the 10th men's tournament to be hosted by the UAE Federation in 2023.

Prince Ali also expressed thanks to the Saudi and Iraqi federations for the successful hosting of the second U-23 WAFF Championship.

Reiterating that the WAFF’s success is the fruit of the associations’ ongoing cooperation and keenness to serve and improve football in the region, the prince expressed thanks to the associations, emphasising the importance of maintaining joint cooperation.
