AMMAN — HRH Prince Hassan, chairperson of the Royal Institute for Inter-Faith Studies' board of trustees, on Monday extended greeting to presidents and representatives of Eastern and Western churches and the Christians in the Kingdom on the occasion of Christmas and the New Year.

During a virtual meeting, attended by Christian and Muslim figures from Jordan and Palestine, Prince Hassan highlighted the “necessity of valuing humanity and maximising the commonalities, as well as respecting the differences within the framework of the systems of ethical and value behaviour to serve the causes of the nation".

On Jerusalem, the prince stressed the importance of preserving the spiritual and cultural character of the neighbourhoods of the holy city, in addition to protecting houses of worship and holy shrines, emphasising the need for moving the global community towards an active role in the holy city.

Prince Hassan expressed best wishes that 2022 would bring hope towards a better future in service of the public good, noting that the pandemic is “ruthless, but it provokes cross-border thinking”, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.
