Prince Mired, CDD chief discuss building codes for people with disabilities

AMMAN — HH Prince Mired, the chief chamberlain and the president of the Higher Council for the Rights of Persons with Disabilities (HCD), has met with Civil Defence Department (CDD) Director Brig. Gen. Muhammad Omari over departmental procedures for the application of building codes for persons with disabilities. During the meeting, held at the HCD, Prince Mired stressed the importance of applying the codes' technical requirements, reviewing the building design blueprints and ensuring they are licensed, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported on Thursday. For his part, Omari expressed the CDD's keenness to integrate accessibility requirements for persons with disabilities, stressing that the department does not accredit any blueprints before ensuring that these requirements are met.
