Prince Mired meets UNESCO Jordan representative

AMMAN — HH Prince Mired, the president of the Higher Council for the Rights of Persons with Disabilities (HCD), on Tuesday received UNESCO Representative in Jordan Min Jeong Kim over the education status of the students with disabilities and the expected role of UNESCO in this regard.
Prince Mired reviewed major challenges facing students with disabilities such as stereotypes, lack of inclusive education and inaccessibility of the infrastructure, according to a HCD statement.
The prince also referred to the role of the Education Ministry, under the law of Rights of People with Disabilities, in prioritising inclusive education and securing the necessary financial allocations.
The UNESCO representative said that the organisation will provide the necessary support for the council towards inclusive education, stressing the importance of engaging the HCD in relevant strategies and action plans.
