Prince Mired, MPs discuss draft law on disabilities

AMMAN — HH Prince Mired, president of the Higher Council for the Affairs of Persons with Disabilities (HCD), on Monday called for enhancing the positive role of people with disabilities through integrating them in society to achieve social justice and equality.
At a meeting with a Lower House joint committee to discuss the 2016 draft law on people with disabilities, Prince Mired said people with disabilities are an important component of society, which calls for addressing their challenges and alleviating them.
MP Abdullah Obeidat, head of the panel, praised the HCD's efforts to protect the rights of people with disabilities and enhance their social status, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.
