Princess Basma Bint Ali attends launch of income generating projects

AMMAN — HRH Princess Basma Bint Ali, chairperson of the board of trustees of the Hashemite Fund for the Development of the Jordan Badia (HFDJB) and founder of the Royal Botanical Garden, on Monday attended the launch of income generating projects.
The projects, which comply with the Royal vision and the HFDJB’s objectives, are part of the activities of the Global Environment Facility (GEF)-funded project Healthy Ecosystems for Rangeland Development (HERD): Sustainable Rangeland Management Strategies and Practices Project, which is implemented in the Jordan Badia by the fund in cooperation with the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN) and the Royal Botanical Garden, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.
During the ceremony, head of HFDJB reviewed the project’s key activities, noting that under the project several rehabilitation activities covered some 2,000 dunums, including the planting of 120,000 seedlings of pastoral trees, adding that several water harvesting projects are in progress in the central and southern Badia.
