Princess Basma Bint Ali opens smart-agri project at BAU

AMMAN — HRH Princess Basma Bint Ali, founder of the Royal Botanical Garden, on Monday at Al Balqa Applied University (BAU) inaugurated the smart-agriculture project established by the Faculty of Agricultural Technology with support from Inter-Islamic Network on Water Resources Development and Management (INWRDAM).
Princess Basma toured the unit and listened to a presentation from the project’s supervising engineers regarding the characteristics of the project and aquaculture basins, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.
Faculty Dean Amal Abbadi said that the university has launched an aquaculture project and has prepared hydroponic ponds at an estimated area of 170sq.m for the purpose of training and scientific research.
INWRDAM Director Marwan Raqqad referred to the importance of aquaculture and choosing proper areas to establish such "successful" projects.
