Qatar to increase investments in Kingdom — ambassador

AMMAN — Qatari Ambassador Saud bin Nasser Al Thani on Monday said that Qatari Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thanihad directed stakeholders to increase his country's investments in the Kingdom.

During a meeting with the Senate's Jordanian-Qatari Brotherhood Committee, he said that Qatar attaches “special importance” to Jordan, referring to a recent meeting between Minister of Investment Khairi Amr and Minister of Planning and International Cooperation Nasser Shraideh and Qatari investment officials, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.

The ambassador said that the Qatari embassy seeks to further enhance partnership with Jordan through activating joint committees and signed agreements, praising Jordan's support for Qatar in organising the FIFA World Cup.

Head of the committee Senator Maddallah Tarawneh referred to the "distinguished" Jordanian-Qatari ties, expressing hope for this meeting to contribute to further enhancing investment and economic ties between the countries.
