Real estate trade volume up by 11% in first 9 months of 2021

AMMAN — The real estate trade volume in the Kingdom increased by 11 per cent to JD3.524 billion in the first nine months of 2021 compared with the same period of 2019, the Department of Land and Survey announced on Wednesday.

According to the department’s monthly report, cited by the Jordan News Agency, Petra, the department’s revenues in the January-September period of 2021 declined by 12 per cent to JD144.9 million compared with the same period of 2019.

The comparison was made to 2019 due to the impact of the pandemic that affected workdays in 2020, the department noted. 

The real estate trade volume in September alone stood at JD435 million, up by 10 per cent compared with the same month of 2019 and down by 11 per cent compared with August 2021.

The department’s revenues in September 2021 dropped 9 per cent to JD18.5 million compared with the same month in 2019, and marked a drop of 7 per cent when compared to August 2021. 

The real estate sales in the January-September period of 2021 increased by 47 per cent, where apartment sales increased by 32 per cent and land sales increased by 52 per cent, compared with the same period of 2019.
