Rjoub wins Irbid by-election

AMMAN – Mohsen Rjoub was late Saturday announced as the winner of Irbid’s second district parliamentary by-election, garnering 5,165 votes, the Independent Elections Commission said.
The poll was conducted Saturday to fill the seat left vacant after the passing away of MP Mohammad Khasawneh in September.
Ten candidates ran for the seat, with Yassar Khasawneh coming second with a around a 700-vote difference.

Wednesday is the last day on which candidates in Irbid’s 2nd district by-elections can withdraw from the scheduled by-elections, the Independent Elections Commission announced.
The Independent Elections Commission (IEC) on Wednesday said that it not recorded any violations concerning the use of political money in the by-election for Irbid’s Second District, adding that it has not received any citizen complaint in this regard, either.
