AMMAN — Senior members of the Jordanian media, government and civil society participated on Monday in a roundtable discussion on media self-regulation, according to a statement released by UNESCO.
The meeting took place under the framework of the EU funded and UNESCO Amman Office implemented “Support to Media in Jordan” project, as part of the project component on self-regulation that is implemented by Fojo Media Institute.
The discussion is a follow-up to the media self-regulation study tour that took place last December, when a Jordanian delegation of media, government and civil society professionals visited Sweden, Denmark and the UK.
The discussion is meant to bring the same group together in Jordan to reflect on the lessons learned during the study tour and to discuss a way forward for self-regulation in Jordan, the statement said.
