Royal initiatives: Issawi inaugurates development projects in Mafraq

AMMAN — Royal Court Chief Yousef Issawi, the head of the follow-up committee for the implementation of Royal initiatives, on Sunday inaugurated a number of development projects in Al Ruwaished District in Mafraq.

These projects come within the framework of Royal initiatives in implementation of the directives of His Majesty King Abdullah, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported. 

The UAE-funded projects include housing units, a mosque, a secondary school and an intellectual development centre.

Issawi inaugurated a secondary school for girls in the presence of Minister of Public Works and Housing Yahya Kisbi and Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research Mohammad Abu Qudais.

The Royal Court Chief also handed 33 underprivileged families keys to new, fully furnished homes in the presence of Kisbi and Acting Minister of Youth Mohammad Salameh Al Nabulsi.

Issawi also inaugurated a mosque with an approximate area of 140 square metres in the presence of Awqaf Minister Mohammad Khalaileh and the public works and housing minister.

The Royal Court Chief inspected Al Manar Centre for Intellectual Development, which has undergone comprehensive maintenance and includes the latest equipment and expertise to deal with students with disabilities.

The centre provides services for 14 students with intellectual and physical disabilities, along with an additional six students who will receive care in the therapy unit.

Royal initiatives, complementary to government programmes and plans, are implemented in coordination with the concerned authorities and civil society institutions. These initiatives seek to meet the needs of local communities, empower them and their talents to improve their social and economic realities, Issawi noted. 

In a visit to Al Ruwaished Hospital, Issawi was briefed on the progress of the project.

Issawi also inaugurated the Princess Taghreed Foundation Centre in Al Safawi, in the presence of Kisbi and Nabulsi. The centre is built on an area of ​​2,500 square metres.

It includes a centre for training and rehabilitation for women and children with disabilities, a multi-purpose hall, a beauty centre, a garden for children, and the Princess Taghreed Centre for Diagnosis for People with Disabilities.
