Safadi, Erekat discuss plans to resume Mideast peace process

AMMAN — Foreign Minister Ayman Safadi on Friday met with Palestinian chief negotiator Saeb Erekat over plans aimed at resuming the peace process that would achieve progress towards reaching a peaceful solution to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict.
Safadi acquainted Erekat with talks His Majesty King Abdullah held with US officials during his recent visit to Washington, DC, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.
For his part, the chief negotiator briefed the minister on the outcomes of Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas’ visits to France and Belgium last week. Safadi and Erekat also agreed to maintain cooperation and coordination.
