Safadi meets UN Women executive director

AMMAN — Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ayman Safadi on Sunday met Executive Director of UN Women Sima Bahouth.

Congratulating Bahouth on her new position, Safadi emphasised the importance of the UN Women role in women empowerment, highlighting Jordan’s interest in issues related to women’s rights, including the adoption of supportive policies that could enhance women's economic contributions and support their role in political life, according to a Foreign Ministry statement.

Bahouth acquainted Safadi with the UN Women’s plans and projects in Jordan, commending the Kingdom’s efforts towards enhancing women empowerment and contribution in various fields.
