AMMAN — Temperatures are expected to slightly increase on Friday with a chance of showers expected in the northern and central regions of the country.

Cloudy to partly cloudy weather is expected to linger throughout the Kingdom, along with moderate to brisk winds, according the Jordan News Agency, Petra.

On Saturday, the country will be affected by another cold air mass and a depression accompanied by a chance of showers, particularly in the central areas of the country.

Rainfall may be heavy in some regions and lead to flooding in valleys and low-lying areas. Brisk westerly winds may also raise dust in several regions, including the Badia region.

Amman’s Friday temperatures are expected to hover around 14ºC, dropping to 6ºC at night, while temperatures in Aqaba should range between 23ºC and 14ºC.

In light of the expected rough weather conditions, the Jordan Metrological Department issued several weather-related warnings urging the public to exercise extreme caution on Saturday, as heavy rainfall might cause flash floods in low-lying areas.

The department warned people of low road visibility, especially in the desert areas, due to strong winds.
